In recent years, Franklin has authored over 500 Engineering Judgment reports, which have been instrumental in successful appeals through Alternate Means and Methods (AM&M) applications across numerous jurisdictions in the United States. By applying rigorous fire science principles, along with detailed exceptions, he clarifies the intent behind building and fire codes. His portfolio includes the design of high and low expansion foam suppression systems for both military and civilian aircraft hangars, specialized hazard suppression systems for warehouses, and gas detection and fire suppression systems for the Alaskan North Slope oil and gas upstream facilities. Additionally, clean agent suppression systems have been designed for hospitals, laboratories, high-tech facilities, and light rail systems.
